Atlas

Atlas belongs to our trainer Emily, he is an AKC 9 month old rough coated Anatolian Shepherd, currently being trained in detection service work. Atlas is called to work on cases where dogs face dog reactivity and need to work on socialization and distractors.

Atlas was welcomed to the Command Performance K9 family in October of 2023. Emily, our breed specialist, has a special place in her heart for Guardian Live Stock breeds. After doing an extensive amount of research on the most reputable Anatolian breeders in the country, Emily found Atlas.

He is now going through extensive training to become a certified service animal. In his down time he enjoys hiking with his mom, wrestling around with Ashton, playing with other dogs, going to local markets, getting pup cups from various coffee shops, and helping us train all the dogs that come through our training programs.

Atlas specializes in socialization. He has helped many dogs who struggle with fear based reactivity towards other dogs build more confidence in their ability to navigate these interactions. Atlas is naturally a dogs dog. After the extensive training gone in to teaching him proper communication, how to appropriately respond to social ques, and not take social ques personally he has become the ideal candidate for the job. Our clients dogs can learn to feel comfortable interacting with dogs again by spending time with another dog that will respect their boundaries. Once a dog realizes they can trust the other dog in their environment curiosity tends to take over. Atlas’s gentle nature allows him to be the perfect playmate for dogs learning how to play with dogs. Whether it is for the first time, or for a dog who is working towards re building trust with their peers.
